So this summer New Orleans is getting some good comedy and some good music shows.  However most seem to be while I”m out of town, on a week night or a crap venue/super expensive.

May try to catch Anamanaguchi as its a friday night if the teen!kiddo sleeps at a friends.  I saw that Sigur Ros is coming in October… but it’s a “champions square” which is an area down by the superdome - I don’t think it’s an actual venue, so I’m not sure I want to pay $50 to see them outside - especially if there happens to be a saints game.  Seems like a very odd venue/band mix.  I still really want to go to tegan and sara but nearly $60 a ticket hurts my wallet.

W Kamau Bell is coming and Pete Holmes are coming.

We ended up going to the comedy show at One Eyed Jacks last night, it was really good.  It was me, Husbot, Oldest Child, and two of Husbot’s friends.  We grabbed a bite to eat first (I had the biggest corned beef sandwich ever) and then headed to the show.  OC and I got Shirley Temples, because we’re cool like that.  It was a few local comedians who were good, 2 comics from LA (That I can’t remember their names).  Tom Lennon came for a few minutes because he was in town.  He played a maraca while leaning on my friend and then put his arm around me =)  Natasha Leggero was next ,and i knew here from JV Club podcast, she was really funny.  Moshe Kasher was last and he was awesome, his act is really polished.  Really enjoyable night, and we were home by 11, which is good for me since I had to be at work for 8… unlike everyone else who went last night.

I got a large coffee this morning, filling like half the cup with whole milk (it’s what they had there), then Hazelnut coffee and Hazelnut flavoring.  It was good, but I realized about halfway through, I should have gotten a small or medium as my stomach was not going to be happy with that much dairy and coffee.

AFP House Party

Are there people in New Orleans that would want to collaborate on a AFP house party?  Just curious

I want to do it, and I’d love to keep it small, but I can’t do it myself and be a fiscally responsible adult
