I’m a little bummed about no SDCC this year, but I’m pretty excited about going to Wyoming to see my dad instead. I have limited vacation time (and budget) so we chose to go to WY this summer. I haven’t been since ‘07, husbot has only been once and kiddos have never been.

I want to try to do some hiking in the mountains and bum around town and maybe go to the celestial tea factory (I love it)

Listening to the Nerdist Podcast with John Barrowman from SDCC.  I would have loved to have been there.  He is so gorgeous and he’s hysterical, so the combo of him and Nerdist… awesome.
Wish I could just keep listening to it.

I’m feeling sort of crummy and just want to go to sleep

*edit* finished listening… so good.  Barrowman is, just too great for words.

My sister got to meet him… I’m so jealous, but probably would have puked on my shoe.

In 24 hours I will be on a plane starting my much needed vacation.  In 9 hours I will be running around my house like a cranky crazy person trying to pack and clean and finish a costume

“BBC AMERICA’s (@BBCAMERICA) Doctor Who stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan make their triumphant return to Comic-Con for a panel and Q&A moderated by Doctor Who pundit and creator of the Nerdist, Chris Hardwick. They will be joined by star Arthur Darvill, who’s making his first pilgrimage to SDCC, along with award-winning lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat (Sherlock) and award-winning executive producer Caroline Skinner (The Fades). As fans eagerly await the new season’s premiere, BBC AMERICA has learned that Steven Moffat and team will be bringing something very special with them to reveal to fans in Hall H.”

I want that SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL to be John Barrowman and they announce he’ll be in the next season.  Come on… no one else wonders why he’d be doing coverage for G4 on saturday and nothing else all weekend?

12PM

  • waiting for the Doctor Who Tumblr to have their RSVP for their meetup
  • So tired, I want a nap, not to write reports after my lunch
  • I think I figured out some christmas presents… (gosh I’m such a dork)
  • Thinking off all the crap I need to get done tonight and tomorrow night… sort of overwhelming
  • Have to finish the Operetta cosplay (monster high) for G.  For doing it in a week, modifying it for a kid (and letting a kid help) and mostly using things we could get easily as I didn’t have time for shipping (except the shoes), I think we did pretty well.  If she wants to use it for halloween, she’ll probably need to hunt down a wig.
  • lots of packing and cleaning and getting things squared away for the animals.
  • Also… In and Out burger - I so need to try animal style fries.  I want a Neopolitan shake too.

8AM

So I guess there are people in line already for the twilight panel… that is on thursday.  I totally get being excited, but 4 days with no shower or decent sleep…no good.

I’m so ready to get out of here and start vacation.  I keep telling myself — 48 hours.

I sort of wish I would have taken a half day tomorrow - I have a bunch of crap to get done.  I may see if we’re slow tomorrow if I can take some vacation hours and leave at 2 or 3.

Going to attempt to make an Operetta costume for comic-con for the kiddo - in less than 10 days - I may be nuts

WHY does John Barrowman have to be doing G4 coverage stuff at comic con on Saturday?!?  Same thing happened last year, Torchwood panel was saturday, and I didn’t have a ticket for comic con.  I know that’s the way it goes but… the G4 thing looks like it’s a 4 hour block of time, I *might * have had a chance of catching a glimpse of him

I sort of want to cosplay at SDCC this year.  I’d really like to do Codex from the guild, but I’m not entirely confident in my sewing skills - I’ve not made a corset or totally drafted a costume from scratch.

Fiona from Adventure time might be fun and not too hard to do… hmm

Opinions?
